Essentially the town hall, the Hall of Records is where history enthusiasts of all kinds gather to research the history of Penningsley and its citizens. Additionally, the Hall registers new citizens, records important events, and houses the local newspaper, the Penningsley Press.

This small library houses books of all kinds on its main floor. Its lower level, which is half-underground, is dedicated to books for children and young adults.

Penningsley has only one hospital. A few private practitioners also live in town, but serious injuries are sent to the larger, better equipped towns nearby.

An elementary school and secondary school are located along Penningsley's northernmost road. At present, no university exists in the town, so all those seeking to attend must move to neighboring cities.

Penningsley is home to many small cafés and restaurants. All are locally owned, and offerings range from simple breakfast foods to pizzerias, from local specialties to small but elegant dining places. Ice cream parlours, bakeries, and confectioneries can also be found. Unfortunately, very few restaurants cater to international foods.

Only one small movie theater exists in Penningsley. However, they have a two-story museum. The ground floor is dedicated to local and English history. The second, fittingly given the town's proximity to what are alleged to be Camelot's ruins, is dedicated to all things Arthurian. It is on this floor than many residents pride themselves.

Many small shops and stands are set up around Penningsley Square. These sell clothes, furniture, home accessories, and food. Some farmers set up stands along the road and in the square to sell their wares. Other business include water and electricity, one law firm, and one real estate agency.

Most of the citizens live in small houses throughout the town, but there are a few apartments, motels, and bed-and-breakfasts as well.

The Valley of the Fallen Kings is a valley in which runs a river that leads to the Isle of the Blessed. In this Valley there are giant stone statues of the ancient kings. People normally don't go there because they are afraid of the magical presence in this area. Hidden in the Valley is the Crystal Cave.

The Isle of the Blessed is thought to be the centre of the Old Religion and the focus of it's power, though the sorcerer Taliesin claimed that magic came into existence in the Crystal Cave. The Isle of the Blessed is a rather small isle in the middle of a lake shrouded by mist. The lake is located passed the White Mountains near the Great Seas of Meredor. The Isle was once inhabited by the High Priestesses of the Triple Goddess, but it fell into ruin after Uther Pendragon attacked it during the Great Purge.
